St Michaels Day 29th September 9.30am

Join us to celebrate but first a little History- In the fifth century, a basilica near Rome was dedicated in honour of Saint Michael the Archangel on 30th September, beginning with celebrations on the eve of that day. The 29th September is now kept in honour of Saint Michael and all Angels throughout western churches. The name Michaelmas comes from a shortening of "Michael's Mass", in the same style as Christmas (Christ's Mass) and Candlemas (Candle Mass, the Mass where traditionally the candles to be used throughout the year would be blessed
